About the Item

This special edition serigraph poster was created for Jean Arp's exhibition at the Denise René Gallery in Paris (1962-1963). It is part of a limited edition of 300, printed on heavy stock. Jean Arp, a pivotal figure in the Dada movement, significantly influenced abstract art. His collaboration with artists like Max Ernst and Alfred Grünwald led to the establishment of the Cologne Dada group in 1920. By 1925, Arp's work was featured in the first surrealist exhibition at Galerie Pierre in Paris. Known for his use of organic, biomorphic shapes and the blending of painting and sculpture, Arp's work has had a lasting impact on abstract art.
